The Who Not How of Real Estate

I’ve been evaluating my life through a different lens recently. Stemming from the phenomenal business book, Who Not How by Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan, I’ve started to reevaluate how I run my business and my life. When I have a new idea for the business, I no longer think to myself, “How am I going to get this done?” I think to myself “WHO in my life can help me get this done, or get this done for me”. I think to myself, "who do I know that is an expert in this?" Part of the trap of running my own business is feeling like I have to do everything myself. It’s taken me 6 years to realize that I’m only good at a few things. Seriously. For everything else, there’s a WHO that is more qualified, more experienced, and just plain better than me at whatever it is. While meditating on this newfound approach to life, I realized that real estate is a business of who’s, not how’s. If you’ve bought or sold a house in the last couple of years you understand that there many, many steps that go into a transaction. There are an infinite number of questions, scenarios, and challenges and no one person can have all of the answers. At its core, my job is to have a strong, reliable network of who’s that I can call on to answer any number of questions. Homegrown Real Estate is a node in a vast network of WHO'S that can help my clients buy and sell confidently. If there’s any part of you that’s thinking about buying or selling a house start asking yourself, “Who can I ask about a mortgage?” Or “Who can I talk to about what my house will sell for?” If you don’t know who to ask, I give you permission to ask me and I’ll connect you with the right WHO.
